SAFETY UNDER PRESSURE
Impro-Labo® - Interactive theatre
One working day out of three someone dies in Belgium as a result of a fatal workplace accident. More than half of them, at the workplace itself. We are writing in the year 2013. Every single working day, 88 workers in Belgium become disabled for the rest of their lives. And that's not counting all the minor accidents that require you to stay home for a few days. Procedures, guidelines, protocols, toolbox sessions ..., they are there to remind us that safety is a priority, but
it is apparently not enough.
Structure of the performance
This performance focuses on (understandable) human behaviour: you take off your PPE for a moment because the job requires precision manual work, you jump over the pit because the subcontractor didn't provide a gangway, you don't intervene when a colleague is working unsafely because he is old and wise enough? Through a series of scenes plucked straight from the field, the actors bring the dilemmas into focus. Magnification, humour and recognition are key words in this performance.
Format
An IMPRO-LABO® is a highly interactive learning and awareness method for small to medium-sized groups. Two actors play sketches around realistic situations from daily life. Led by a moderator and through continuous interaction with the audience, dilemmas are discussed, and visions explained. This creates (renewed) commitment and awareness.
